Who is oxb(ee)?

Stephan "Oxb" A. is a french artist who grew up in the 80's. He started learning music theory and piano playing around 9 or 10 years old during many years. When he was a teenager he discovered the composing and studio environnement thanks to his music teacher. It was a shock and Oxb quickly bought his first multimedia computer (Commodore Amiga 500) and synth (Roland D5) and started to compose kind of musics with some very inscrutable softwares called "trackers". It was in 1991. After many years and many musics (around 250) composed for the demoscene where he also learnt computing along with his studies, he switched off to produce instrumentals for hip-hop with french band "Sib-C" and his friend Hnesh. Live performances and real studio environnement were a good path to learn production, mixing and all those necessary things to nowadays ways of creating music. On the other hand Oxb's personal projects have remained in a electronic music genre mixed with pop-songwriting as those found here. A new EP should be available around mid-2008. Songwriting and lyrics have taken a huge part in The Mean Star music project. The result will be a gentle mix between electronic music and acoustic pop/folk influences.
